Snow in Tokyo is quite rare. If we are lucky, we get one or two snow days a year, and it never really builds up. It is, however, enough to paralyze the train system and make it quite difficult to get anywhere.

Given the rarity of snow in Tokyo you can understand why I was truly excited when it started snowing this February. I was working from home on that day, so after finishing some urgent tasks I grabbed my camera and headed out for a walk in the snow.

 

As I was walking through the streets, snapping pictures, my fingers were freezing, my shoes were soaking wet and I was a little bit worried about catching a cold. However, it was all worth it as I was able to capture the city in its "yukigesho" - snow makeup.
